Как пользоваться Data Rescue?

Для начала работы вам потребуется скачать Data Rescue на свой компьютер или съемный носитель, если ОС не запускается. После запуска программы должно открыться меню, где можно видеть все доступные разделы и основные функции. При помощи удобного управления можно выбрать нужные разделы и запустить утилиту start scan, после чего произойдет сканирование всего диска. Далее, на экране появятся все потерянные файлы. Галочками можно выделить только нужную вам информацию для восстановления и последующего копирования на дополнительный диск. Стоит отметить, что при покупке, в упаковке находится загрузочный диск и это так же пригодится, когда компьютер вообще не загружается.

Recuva is a full recovery toolkit, dealing with deep scanning, retrieval of data from damaged drives, extracting files from removable devices and more. Although it does come with a paid-for version like the above, the free version is definitely worth checking out as an option.

It’s not the most comprehensive tool, but it’s certainly powerful enough for the price, particularly given that the pro version also adds disk imaging tools for taking full backups of your drives.

Perhaps Recuva’s most interesting feature is one that’s contrary to its main aim: using its secure delete capability, you can completely obliterate files. Note that usually files are only ever truly deleted when they’re overwritten by another occupying the same space on the drive – otherwise, it’s merely the reference to their data in the OS that’s removed.

By overwriting each of their bits repeatedly with zeroes, even the most advanced data forensics tool won’t be able to get them back. Perfect for those highly questionable documents that absolutely need to stay deleted…

TestDisk takes care of the partition side of things. The fact that it’s a command line tool with no graphical interface might off-putting at first. If can set this to one side though, there’s help on hand to guide you through the process of working with your drives. TestDisk offers support for so many file systems, it should cater for most eventualities.

PhotoRec is the component for recovering files. It’s available with a command lint interface, but unlike TestDisk there’s also a GUI for less confident users. It may not be as intuitive as some of the other recovery software in this listing, but it’s effective.

PhotoRec is cross-platform and can be run as a portable app from a USB stick, which means you don’t have to install it on your PC and risk accidentally overwriting the data you want to recover.

When it comes to data recovery, there aren’t really all that many options other than the ability to search for particular types of files to reduce the size of the list you have to sort through.

Errors during the boot process

Various issues can cause SystemRescueCd to hangs or fail with unexpected errors
during the boot process. Please do not report these as bugs unless you have
verified the frequent causes of these issues:

• Boot medias such as CD, DVD, and USB stick are often unreliable and bad
  blocks will cause problems. You can try another media to see if it makes a
  difference, and you can enable verification when you burn/copy the ISO image
  to make sure data written to the device can be read and match the original.
• Damaged RAM will cause all type of programs to behave unexpectedly. Computers
  memory can be tested using program such as memtest which is included with SystemRescueCd.
• You will also get problems if the system runs out of memory. So make sure your
  computers has at least 2GB of memory if you start with the default boot
  options or 4GB if you cache the system into RAM.

• GNU Parted: creates, resizes, moves, copies partitions, and filesystems (and more).
• GParted: GUI implementation using the GNU Parted library.
• FSArchiver: flexible archiver that can be used as both system and data recovery software
• ddrescue : Attempts to make a copy of a block device that has hardware errors, optionally filling corresponding bad spots in input with user defined pattern in the copy.
• File systems tools (for Linux and Windows filesystems): format, resize, and debug an existing partition of a hard disk
• Ntfs3g: enables read/write access to MS Windows NTFS partitions.

It is possible to make custom versions of the system.
For example, you can add your own scripts, make an automatic restoration of the
system. It is also possible to
burn a custom DVD,
with SystemRescueCd and 4GB for your data (backup for example). Read the manual

You can use SystemRescueCd to backup data from an unbootable Windows
computer, if you
want to backup the data stored on a Windows computer that cannot boot any more.

It is very easy to install SystemRescueCd on a USB
stick. That is very useful in
case you cannot boot from the CD drive. You just have to copy several files to
the stick and run syslinux. The install process can be done from Linux or
